Working at Height and Over Water

Course Duration;                     1 day

Ration;   6 Trainees : 1 Instructor.

 

Aim; This course will give persons attending the knowledge and the skills to be proficient in the erection of such equipment

 

Objectives; On completion of the day the student will have a broad understand of the skills and techniques for working at height and be able to comply with the following;

 

1.  Their responsibilities under the current legislation

2.  The safety rules and procedures applicable to safety harnesses and the erection of towers, ladders, scaffolding

3.  Basic maintenance of the equipment                       

4.  Factors affecting the stability

5. Working as a member of a team to erect a tower

 

Course Content;

1.    The Health and Safety at Work Act 1974 sec 2,7, and 8.

2.    There responsibilities under LOLER and PUWER Regulations l998

3.    Manual Handling Regs 1992

4.    PPE Reg 1992

5.    Safety rules relating to Pre-erecting checks of equipment

6,    To carry out basic maintenance of the equipment

7,    To carry out a Theory & Practical Assessment

8,    How it erect and dismantle the equipment safely

9,    Safety procedures for working over water
