Mobile & Truck Mounted Crane Operator

Who Is This Training For?

Novice Training is for the student with little or no experience on the machine

Semi Experienced Worker is for the student that has limited knowledge and practical experience with the machine

Experienced Worker is for the student the requires a test of competence to gain a certificate

CPCS or NPORS Test is for the student that needs a test of competence to gain a Red or Blue Card

Course Duration:                   

Novice Operator - 5 days

Experienced Operator  - 3 days

Refresher Training  - 1 day (depending on the standard of the operator)



1 Machine. 3 Trainees. 1 Instructor.



On completion of the training the student will understand and be able to comply with the following;

Their responsibilities under the current legislation and guidelines

The safety rules and procedures applicable to the duties of a crane

Safety in re-fuelling & battery charging procedures

Basic maintanence

Factors affecting the stability of the crane and sitting the crane

Operating the machinery on varying terrain

Accurately rigging and moving loads

The principles of weight estimations



 At the end of the course the successful student will receive a Certificate of training and an ID card (if requested)

Course Content:

The health and safety at work act 1974 sec 2,3,7, and 8.

There responsibilities under Construction Regs 1961, LOLER and PUWER Regulations l998

The function of the hydraulic system

Operators safety rules

Safety when re-fuelling & battery charging

To carry out basic maintanence & Pre-shift checks

Conduct basic manoeuvres in open areas and confined spaces

Duties of a Slinger Banksman

Site safety procedure

Factors affecting stability & ASLI

Basic sling inspections
